Other than that, the whole Game Boy Advance thing screams at me. Paper Animal RPG has 3D maps that resemble papercraft, and you can see a sort of “skybox” of a wooden tabletop behind the play area, which is further reminiscent of a board game. The combat is reminiscent of the kind of experimental tactical RPGs you used to see on Nintendo hardware, and the “grid-based but real-time” system almost feels like a rhythm game. You explore isometric, procedurally generated world maps arranged in levels for each tile set, with the ultimate goal of finding the lost king of your village. The roguelite RPG sees you select your favorite avatar from a cast of cute critters, each corresponding to a classic character class (split here as fighter, caster, and supporter).
